18th Century Market Fair 
Fort Frederick State Park

Description: Now in its 23rd year, the Market Fair features the best artisans, craftspeople, and sutlers together with an 18th century encampment. Hours are 9 am to 5 pm Thu, Fri, Sat and 9 am to 3 pm Sun. Sponsored by the Friends of Fort Frederick State Park.
Cost: Admission Fee Charged.
Directions: Take I-70 E to exit 12(Big Pool), turn right on MD-56 and go down 1 mile to the park on your right. From the east: Take I-70 W to exit 12(Big Pool), turn left on MD-56 and go down 1 mile to the park on your right.

Fishing Rodeo 
Gambrill State Park

Description: Anglers 15 and under are invited to fish at Gambrill State Park's fishing pond. All participants must be accompanied by an adult and bring their own fishing tackle and bait. Limited to the first 35 registrants. Call 301-293-4170 or email alicia.norris@maryland.gov to reserve your place.
Cost: free with $3/5 car entry
Directions: Follow Route 40 west from Frederick and follow signs into Gambrill State Park's Rock Run Area 8002 Gambrill Park Road Frederick, MD

Lake Hike 
Seneca Creek State Park

Location: 11950 Clopper Road
City: Gaithersburg
County: Montgomery
Description: Take a 3.7 mile hike with the park naturalist to see what types of creatures can be found in and around the lake. Bring a camera for some great photo opportunities! Meet at the Boat Center.
Cost: $3 per Maryland resident, $5 per out-of-state visitor
Directions: From Washington, D.C, Virginia and points south, take I-270 north towards Frederick, Maryland. Take Exit 10, Clopper Road (Route 117). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. The park is approximately 2 miles on the left. From points north, take I-270 south towards Washington, D.C., take Exit 11 (MD Route 124 west). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. At the second light, turn right onto Clopper Road (Route 117). The park is approximately 1.5 miles on the left.

Merkle Dog Hike 
Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary and Visitor's Center

Location: 11704 Fenno Rd.
City: Upper Marlboro

Description: Bring your leashed dog and meet up with others at the Visitor's Center to hike the Paw-Paw and Poplar Springs trails. Make sure to wear appropriate attire and bring water for you and your dog. Hike will be approximately 3 miles long. Enjoy the weather, learn some new tips for hiking with your four legged friend, and meet people who share your love of dogs and nature.
Cost: Free. Donations Accepted
Directions: From 301 take Croom Rd, turn left onto St. Thomas Church Rd., Which will turn into Fenno Rd. Follow sign for Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary on your left.

Star Party 
Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary and Visitor's Center

Description: Join the Astronomy Club of Southern Maryland for an evening of stargazing at Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary! Bring your own equipment or peer through the provided telescopes while learning about the night sky. Please dress for the weather and bring a lawn chair or blanket; we will meet out front of the Frank Oslislo Visitor Center.
Cost: Free. Donations Accepted.
