| Gunpowder Falls State Park 4/8/2017 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Location: 11159 Belair Road, Kingsville, MD 21087 City: Kingsville County: Baltimore Description: Join us for a leisurely hike along the Big Gunpowder, searching for early-blooming wildflowers. We expect to find pink azalea, bluebells, bloodroot and irises. Meet at the bulletin board next to the parking lot at Big Gunpowder. Wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes. This will be approximately 2.5 miles on easy terrain. Please pre-register by email or through Meetup. | Seneca Creek State Park 4/9/2017 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Location: 11950 Clopper Road City: Gaithersburg County: Montgomery Description: Start the week with an exciting program about beavers at Seneca! Meet at the Park Office for an indoor presentation about these furry critters. Optional: hike afterward to view several beaver habitats. Meet at the Park Office. Cost: No charge for presentation. Hike only: $3 per Maryland resident, $5 per out-of-state visitor Directions: From Washington, D.C, Virginia and points south, take I-270 north towards Frederick, Maryland. Take Exit 10, Clopper Road (Route 117). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. The park is approximately 2 miles on the left. From points north, take I-270 south towards Washington, D.C., take Exit 11 (MD Route 124 west). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. At the second light, turn right onto Clopper Road (Route 117). The park is approximately 1.5 miles on the left. | Gunpowder Falls State Park 4/11/2017 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Location: 2840 Dalton Bevard Rd, Baldwin, MD 21013 City: Baldwin County: Baltimore Description: The Native Americans coined April's full moon the "Pink Moon" due to the appearance of pink moss, or wild ground phlox - one of spring's first wildflowers to bloom. We will meet at the Sweet Air area in Baldwin, MD. Please wear layers, sturdy shoes and bring water and a flashlight or headlamp. This will be approximately 2.5 miles on moderate terrain.
