This is a moderate-to-difficult 2-mile hike through protected state wildlands. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring water. Register through email or Meetup. | Seneca Creek State Park 4/23/2017 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Location: 11950 Clopper Road City: Gaithersburg County: Montgomery Description: Meet at the Nature Shack next to the Recycled Tire Playground. Explore real-life skulls and pelts from mammal residents of the park, and learn how bones and hair can teach us what animals eat and how they live. Cost: $3 per Maryland resident, $5 per out-of-state visitor Directions: From Washington, D.C, Virginia and points south, take I-270 north towards Frederick, Maryland. Take Exit 10, Clopper Road (Route 117). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. The park is approximately 2 miles on the left. From points north, take I-270 south towards Washington, D.C., take Exit 11 (MD Route 124 west). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. At the second light, turn right onto Clopper Road (Route 117). The park is approximately 1.5 miles on the left. Take a 2.8 mile hike on the Seneca Greenway Trail. Hike 1.4 miles to the Route 28 parking lot and enjoy a break to explore before hiking back. Wear hiking clothes and footwear, and bring water. Please RSVP. Cost: No cost Directions: From Washington, D.C, Virginia and points south, take I-270 north towards Frederick, Maryland. Take Exit 10, Clopper Road (Route 117).
