The Maryland Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Service has scheduled a public hearing on the proposed regulations for Urbana Lake Fishery Management Area on August 29, 2016 at 6 p.m. at the Urbana Regional Library (9020 Amelung Street, Frederick, Maryland).

The purpose of this action is to limit hunting at Urbana Lake Fishery Management Area to the use of archery equipment only. The primary goal for Urbana Lake is to provide access for fishing. This small 60-acre tract will be managed to provide quality deer hunting for archery hunters in balance with the goals and purpose of this fishery management area. The proposal will create a new archery-only area for bowhunters in Maryland.

For more information regarding this proposal, visit: http://dnr.maryland.gov/fisheries/Pages/regulations/proposed.aspx#mgnt. All interested parties are invited to attend and give their views. Sign language interpreters and other appropriate accommodations for individuals with disabilities will be provided upon request.
