Silent Witness by Maureen Barnes

Silent Witness
Maureen Burns

The sculpture, “Silent Witness” was made as a way to express the sense that the Wye Oak has been living near us for hundreds of years, quietly sharing our lives, watching us as we live out our moments, an integral part of our everyday existence. Impressions from the bark went into the forming process of the clay, and ash from burnt branches was mixed into the glazes.
