The Heart of the Wye Oak YK Tang This piece of Wye Oak is believed to be near the bottom part of the stem. In one side, the grains of the wood look like a Chinese painting of waterfalls. The other side shows layers of the wood structure and the irregular forms due to decay. A small area near the center, the wood is extremely hard, is carved as the heart of the Wye Oak.
