Deep Creek Lake Weekend
Type: Nontidal
Region: Western
Location: Deep Creek Lake
Fished main lake docks and grass with small finesse worms, jigs and minnow imitators. I don’t have an accurate water temp as I fished without my electronics – but I guess mid 60’s. Caught 5 species this weekend. Largemouth, Smallmouth, Pickeral, Walleye and Rock Bass. Including a 10-3/4” Citation qualifying Rock Bass.
Wayne received a FishMaryland certificate for this catch. Congratulations!

Sunday Snakehead
Type: Nontidal
Region: Eastern
Location: Little Blackwater
On 5/15 I fished with friends Vadim and Zach on the Little Blackwater. We went out of the soft launch at the Chesapeake Forest entrance off Egypt Rd today. The bite was horrible. We only caught two fish. But they were nice heavy fish, mine measured in at 28” and Zach’s catch was 26”.
We spoke to seven other anglers, which between them, caught four fish. And three of those were caught by one angler. The water temperature was cold to the touch. For a good snakehead bite the water temperature needs to be 68 degrees up to 80 degrees. The current weather has kept the fish at bay, ugh. I’m catching fish but it’s hasn’t been easy. I've been having success catching them on swim jigs 4” white paddle tail.

My 400th Submission!
Type: Nontidal
Region: Southern
Location: St. Mary's Lake
I can’t believe that I’ve submitted so many reports, I bet, neither can you! HA!
I fished St Mary’s Lake a second day in a row. I figured the bite wound be somewhat better today than yesterday with the weather changing for the worse, more rain. I fished the upper end of the lake, but I did catch a few fish on the way up lake and back down to the ramp.
I was casting a small square billed plug and a 1/8oz lead head jig with a 3” Kietech Electric Blue/Chartreuse paddle tail. I ended up catching another flier fish too! A Fun surprise. Also Catching 14 largemouth bass, 15 crappie, 6 yellow perch and 3 pickerel. Most of the crappie I caught today were a better class of fish then when I fished for them last.

Little Falls Catch

I caught these in the Little Falls off of Graystone Road. I do need help identifying the one that has the spikes on its head. Looks like a fallfish but I have never seen one like that.

St Mary’s Lake Bass Fishing
Type: Nontidal
Region: Spouthern
Location: St. Mary's Lake
On Wednesday 5/11, I fished St Mary’s Lake in the wind. I’ve been off the water for the past few days because of the weather, only some pond fishing from the shoreline.
I fished for four hours on the lake and caught 10 largemouth bass. I lost two others as they came out of the water to do a tail dance. They were caught on square billed crankbait and one on a wacky rig. I also caught one pickerel too. I spoke to another guy and he said that he caught 20 largemouth bass, and one pickerel on a jerk bait.
I saw a small boat with two guys, they were trolling crappie jigs, I saw them catching crappie, perch and a few bass.

Calvert Pond Fishing

I took 1.5hrs in the cold and wind to target bluegill on 5/8 at a pond on the golf course in Lusby. I ended up catching 9 bluegill, 10 small crappie and a very small bass on a fly and then a very small shad dart under a bobber.
Fun in the cold!
