Fort Frederick State Park 8/5/2017 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 8/6/2017 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Location: 11100 Fort Frederick Road City: Big Pool County: Washington Description: The military history of Fort Frederick spans the 18th and 19th centuries. Building upon that legacy, the park will be hosting a "Soldier Through the Centuries" program. With hands-on displays of weapons, uniforms and military gear from the 1600's colonial militia, Revolutionary War, Civil War, and World War II, historical interpreters from the fort will be describing how soldiering changed over time while maintaining certain common elements. The visiting public will be given a rare opportunity to come in close contact with antiques from our military past. Cost: Park entrance fees apply. North Point State Park 8/10/2017 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Location: 2840-, 2878 S North Point Rd, Dundalk, MD 21222 City: Dundalk County: Baltimore Description: A hidden treasure located in Dundalk, the North Point State Battlefield was once the location where American soldiers stood firm against British advancement in defense of Baltimore. The Battle of North Point delayed the British enough to enable further fortification of the port city, and, as a result, Baltimore did not suffer a British raid during the War of 1812. Travel back in time as naturalists guide you around the battlefield, setting the scene and recounting the story of the defenders! Meet under the flag poles in the parking lot.
