North Point State Park 7/13/2017 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Location: 2840-, 2878 S North Point Rd, Dundalk, MD 21222 City: Dundalk County: Baltimore Description: A hidden treasure located in Dundalk, the North Point State Battlefield was once the location where American soldiers stood firm against British advancement in defense of Baltimore. The Battle of North Point delayed the British enough to enable further fortification of the port city, and, as a result, Baltimore did not suffer a British raid during the War of 1812. Travel back in time as naturalists guide you around the battlefield, setting the scene and recounting the story of the defenders! Meet under the flag poles in the parking lot. Highlights of the event include musket firing presentations, hearth cooking demonstrations, a clothing talk, and militia drills. Cost: Park entrance fees apply. Directions: From the west: Take I-70 E to exit 12(Big Pool), turn right on MD-56 and go down 1 mile to the park on your right.
