I fished Piney Run from about 9:30a until 3:00p on Monday 9/12 anchored up in my canoe off a point. I was using chicken livers hoping for a couple 25 stripers or some nice channel cats. The 22 catfish was not a surprise, but the 20.5, 4.7lb. largemouth was a huge surprise. Ive caught all kinds of fish on chicken liver, including smallies on the Potomac from time to time, but this bass ate a liver off the bottom in 30 of water. Its my third biggest largemouth ever. Thats one of the great things about fishingsurprises! I also caught several 16 stripers, a bunch of brown bullheads, and many 8 yellow perch, all on liver. I released everything except the channel cat, which will be coated in seasoned corn meal and taking a brief swim in peanut oil one night this week.
