Type: Chesapeake
Region: Eastern
Location: Western side of shipping channel, just west of Thomas Point Light
Went out trolling with my dad on Saturday morning. We tried all over, keeping an eye on what the charter boats were doing. Trolling around the big ships out in the channel, going in to shallower water, hugging the drop off of the channel, and finally at 10:40am I decided to check the lines to make sure they werent tangled. While reeling in a chartuse umbrella rig, I felt her hit. The fish pulled pretty good, giving me a fairly decent 5-7 minute work out. She was just over 38inches. Caught in about 45ft of water directly east of Thomas Point. Luckily she only had a few eggs, so I didn't feel so bad eating her for dinner that night. Second photo of sunrise the morning of.
