Trophy Striped Bass

Burton Rogers and John Lepore holding this nice 45 � inch (35.20 pound) caught at buoy #68 out of Point Look Out Md while participating in the Fall classic MSSA annual tournament. During the two day tournament a total of five rockfish were caught ranging from 23 inches to the size featured in the photo. We were trolling with planner boards. Most of the fish were caught on a blue head, white hair and white nine inch sassy shad 70 � 120 on the outside planner board line using no additional weight. We run the same set up trolling this time of year as we do in the spring time and it works. The fish were caught up and down the Chesapeake and I expect the fishing to just keep getting better for these trophy stripers.
