Maryland Trout Trifecta

Type: Nontidal
Region: Western
Location: Casselman and Bear Creek

Spent a recent weekend (11/17 - 11/19) in beautiful Garrett County. Started on the Casselman late in the day Thursday, where I caught and released a 14" rainbow on a yellow rooster tail. On Friday I moved to Bear Creek. The temperature outside was in the low 30's but the conditions were perfect. The water was crystal clear with a great flow and several deep pools. After catching and releasing several regular size browns, I landed this 18", 4lb monster on a green/gold Rapala minnow jerk bait near the Friendsville side of Rt 219. To complete my perfect outing, my last fish on Saturday was a small brook trout caught near the Bear Creek hatchery. The trifecta of MD trout!
