Big Blue

Type: Tidal
Region: Virginia
Location: James River

I just read an article about a blue catfish that was caught on the Potomac River that may have eclipsed the current Maryland state record. Apparently the fish was over 70lbs. Thats one big fish! I was fishing on the James River on this past New Years eve 2011 and caught a blue cat that measured 48 inches long with an impressive 37 inch girth. I attempted to weigh it but could not get the entire fish off the bottom of the boat due to rotator cuff tears! I entered the length and girth into the fish weight calculator and it said 83.00 lbs. Virginia does not have a cool site like yours so Im hoping a neighborly post of this pig with no ears will make it onto the Maryland anglers log.
