Fished St. Mary's lake the afternoon of April 28th. The wind was relentless. Lots of white caps on the lake. I didn't see any trailers in the parking lot before I launched. I fished the banks across from the boat ramp then went into the cove to the left of the dam. I ended the day with a St. Mary's grand slam. Caught some bass, pickerel, bluegill and a lone crappie. 19 fish in all. Missed quite a few more. Nothing too big but still a lot of fun. A rebel crickhopper and a mepps spinner did the trick. I tossed the hopper when it appeared the water was shallower and the mepps when the water was deeper. Many of the bass were in their usual hiding places like along blowdowns. I couldn't find the larger pickerel, which seem to favor the mepps spinner.
