Mouth of Patuxent River

Type: Chesapeake
Region: Southern
Location: Patuxent River

I took my Dad fishing at the Patuxent River Navy Base Fishing Pier Tuesday 13 March, and was pleasantly surprised that the Rockfish were biting off bloodworms. (Especially since we had went fishing the Friday before in Golden Beach at Long Point and caught no less then 8 large catfish off the same bait). We caught four Rockfish total Tuesday, with the biggest (in the attached picture) which measured in at 28 inches and weighed 10 pounds. The others were smaller but averaged 14 to 20 inches. Not bad for fishing off the pier :) Happy Fishing, Tom Hartswick
