Loch Raven Report

Type: Nontidal
Region: North Central
Location: Loch Raven

I had a good evening fishing at Loch Raven on thursday 3-15-2012. I caught three bass, two were about 3lbs and a real hawg on a 5" Watermelon senco, it put up a great fight, peeling drag, constantly jumping out of the water, even rapped itself around a log. I was relieved when I was finally able to put my thumb in its jaw. I also hooked up with a good size northern pike and a fish that I couldn't possitively identify, it was about 12" and its markings looked more like a musky.

DNR's Response: We believe you caught a juvenile northern pike, most of the small northerns that we catch have some broken bars, but you can see a start to the typical bean pattern on the fish as well.
