Smallmouth Bass on the Little Patuxent

Type: Tidal
Region: Central
Location: Little Patuxent River

I was patrolling the shoreline casting a Mr. Twister grub without much success when I spotted a nice hole on the other side of the river. I couldn't quite get my lure all the way to where I wanted it but I noticed a fallen tree that stretched about 15 yards up stream from where I wanted my lure to land. I decided to test my balance and walk the plank out over the water. I made it out there safely. While my knees shook I stood on that log and casted my lure. After not getting a hit I decided to drop the grub in front of me under the log I was on. A smallmouth came out of the depths immediately and attacked my grub and as quickly as it attacked, it swam back under the log. I set the hook and fought it out of there with my indestructible braided line. Definitely worth conquering my fear of heights.
