This past Friday I took my daughter to the Savage River for the day, as the babysitter was on vacation. What better way to spend a day off with your daughter than fishing for some brook trout and looking for creatures? We spent the morning and early afternoon finding snakes, frogs, salamander, bugs and other critters until we decided it was time to catch a trout. So, off we went, 3 year old sitting on my shoulders, fly fishing for brookies in Poplar Lick. It didnt take long until an eager 7 fish took my caddis I put her down off of my shoulders, and asked her to reel in my fly. She was more than excited when a brookie started splashing on the other end the days just dont get much better than that one.
