Hungry fish after the spawn

Fished in the rain yesterday (5-17) and found a nice group of stripers eager to bite. We caught numerous fish up to 33", keeping a limit and releasing the rest. The fish we cleaned were resident males that had recently spawned. The fishing will only pick up as these hungry post-spawn fish continue to migrate from their natal rivers to the mainstem of the bay.
