Saturday April 21st I decided to go back down to Marley Creek to the boat club to fish for perch. I bought live grassshrimp and also brought my gulp minnows. The tide was much higher then normal, but after a few cast of nothing but a small white perch I switched to the gulp minnows.
On my first cast with the gulp I got a nice white perch. On the second cast I got a nice yellow perch. I switched back and forth from live to gulp catching, small pumpkinseeds, bluegills and perch. Finally as the tide started to move I got a nice white perch then another on a small dart and shrimp combo.
Well, after I got the call from home I had to cut my trip short. As I was packing, Larry from the boat club said his party didnt show to go out rockfishing, so we exchanged numbers so that I can get some good use from my late uncle's trolling rods. I would of went opening day with my cousin and uncle but they were busy getting out-witted by some turkeys down on the eastern shore. Ill be out there soon, and pics sure to follow. Take a kid fishing, it will change your life and thiers!
As I cleaned the white perch one had odd black marks all through it....they were hard like pellets, do you know what this is and if it's safe to eat? I threw that one away but for future reference I'd like to know. Thanks
