Here is a Bass report from the area of Mattawoman Creek from the last week. The largemouth have invaded every area of the river and so have the fisherman. I took off last Friday to fish with Jim Rogers. We were catching most fish on a chatterbait and a few on baby ones. The areas I fished last week were high and dry due to the very low water from NW winds and a low tide, so we moved to some deeper banks. Virtually any lure would work but I must crank when the fish are so aggressive. Attached are a few pictures, including the largest bluegill Ive ever caught. He hit a oz rattle trap.. 1.29lbs and 11 inches long. The Potomac never ceases to amaze me. By the end of this week some bass will be getting ready to make spawning beds. Also, Ive run into several very rude tournament fisherman who believe it is okay to move in on another fisherman without even saying hello or having any luck? I have learned that a lot of information can be gained by being polite and talking to other anglers instead of just muscling in on an area.
