I had an unbelievable hour of fishing just below Shepherdstown on May 1. Between 11:45 am and 12:45 pm I caught and released eleven smallmouth bass. The largest was 19 inches, an 18 and 16 and the others all over 13 inches. All smashed a buzz bait with a black and red skirt. I have been fishing the Potomac for 55 years and this was the best single hour of catching quality smallies I ever experienced. Pictures of the two biggest are attached.
