Location: Little Seneca Lake in Boyds, MD
Got out on the lake in the early afternoon Sunday and fished until sundown. The water temperature was 68 to 69 degrees with a breeze coming out of the east.
Hooked up with with eight largemouth bass with the largest one going about 16 inches. The primary pattern has remained the same for the last several weeks, which is fishing in and around the downed trees which fortunately is one thing that Little Seneca has a lot of.
Used the Livetarget Bluegill crankbait to bump the ends and sides of the wood and used a Texas-Rigged 7.5 inch Culprit Worm in Tequila Shad to pitch straight into the trees.
Also had some success fishing one other pattern. If I came across one of those honey-combed Bluegill spawning beds I would fish the nearest drop off into deeper water. Was finding some better bass lurking in those areas, probably waiting to pick off the smaller nest raiding sunfish coming up and off those beds. Got a good look at a four pound bass silhouetted against the sky as it rocketed completely out of the water and spit my crankbait right back at me.
