Potomac River Snakehead

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Potomac River

I got my very FIRST snakehead on May 5, 2012 in the afternoon at 6:30pm by National Airport on the Potomac River. She hit off a Swimmin Super Red and Green Fluke wading in about 3 feet of water in a small group of Lilly pads. She weighed about 6lb and 26 inch long. I know it was a, SHE since we cut into the stomach and find two huge yellow egg sacs. Lucky, I got her right before she was about to spawn.

The tackle I used was a 7.6 spinning rod with 20lb green Suffix braided line weight with a 3/0 wide gap hook.
