Good Bass Fishing in the Potomac

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Occoquon/Belmont Bay

Saturday, May 5th report for the area of Occoquon/Belmont Bay. I took my neighbor Carl and his son Jacob out on the Potomac for a morning of bass fishing. We were not disappointed. We fished near Conrad Island along with 50 of our best friends. The bass were chewing pretty good in this area and most every boat was hooking nice bass. Any soft plastics would work but we were mainly throwing crankbaits and chatterbaits so I could teach these guys how to navigate the emerging weeds and get some aggressive bites. Around 9 am we moved to a couple other areas that were devoid of boats but there were plenty of willing bass in these areas too. Our largest bass was 4.39 lbs.
