Had a productive day at Mallow's Bay on Saturday the 12th. I landed 2 decent largemouth bass. One on a 7 inch plastic worm, and the other on a BPS Humpin' Toad in the watermelon red color. I found a decent snakehead hideout and proceeded to boat 6 snakeheads in a short period of time. The largest was a mere 21.5" and I actually was able to land the smallest snakehead I've ever seen caught on rod and reel who was just shy of 11". All snakeheads were taken on the same BPS Humpin' Toad in watermelon red with a mixed retrieve (buzz, then swim, then buzz, etc.) They were hitting it on topwater and while swimming it. All snakeheads were dispatched by severing their spines and later filleted at my house. Snakeheads were all caught within 30 feet of each other in the slop (hydrilla.) Also saw a lot of gar doing their thing in the same area.
