My friend, Ron Uleck and I got out on the lake at Black Hills in Boyds, Friday, May 18th. We hit the water at 6 am and did not get a fish until 10:30 when we found some crappies. After catching a number of crappies we got back to bass fishing and finally caught a 3 lb 13 oz largemouth and a 3 lb 6 oz largemouth in 25 feet of water around trees with a white spinner bait around noon. One more smaller bass hit the same bait a few minutes later. That was it for the day and we got off the lake at 3 pm. We did see several bass in shallow water, but they would not hit any bait. The water was quite clear in most areas of the lake. The coves were a bit stained and we did not see a bass or get a bite in the coves. Surface water temp was 68.3 at 6 am and 72.2 when we left the lake. A picture of the 3 lb 6 oz is attached.
