It's no secret the black drum show up this time of year in an area off of Tilghman Island known as Stone Rock. These big bruisers are a challenge to catch but that's part of the fun. Friday May 25th, me and my friend Tom Hughes each caught and released one; mine a 17 pounder and his personal best at 37 lbs. Then Sunday May 27th, I took my neighbors Lee Haile and his son Eddie drum fishing. I wanted them to hook up their first drum but the fish took my bait instead. This fish is my personal best black drum in Maryland. It weighed 75 lbs and measured 47 inches long. I caught it while drifting a piece of soft crab in about 20 feet of water. The drum are here. Go get them!
