This snakehead was caught on May 21, 2012 in St. Jerome's Creek by Buzz's Marina's dock. It was caught by Buzz's owner Michael Henderson with a white spinner bait. It had been hanging around for about five days and we have lots of pictures of it in the water swimming but it took a while to get it. Michael used a kayak for the first time so he could get into the shallows of the head of the creek where the fish was hanging out. He was so excited when the fish hit the line he fell out of the kayak! Luckily the water was warm and shallow!
The fish weighed 8.7lbs. It was 30.5 inches long and had a girth of 13 4/4 inches. This is the second one Michael has caught at the marina. Last year in May he got one from the same place. Though it was only 24 inches.
