Monster Catfishing

Type: Nontidal
Region: Central
Location: Potomac River

I caught this beast of a catfish while canoeing on the Potomac Sunday May 30th up from the bridge at Brunswick. I was using a Gulp white 6" eel. My son actually missed it twice before it hit my lure. I was using a medium light rod with new 8 pound test line. The girth was so big that I could hardly bring it into the canoe. We would have kept and ate it for its steaks but it had a discusting silver dollar white and red growth on its fore head so I threw it back. But it was fun catching it to say the least. Randy Burks
