Bluegills were an exciting catch at Broadford Lake, Oakland MD this past week. The bluegills are in shallow water seeking spawning sites. I fished there yesterday using a four-weight nine foot flyrod and a bead-head nymph. As soon as I would cast the fly out - a fish would be hooked! Well, thats if I didnt happen to get the hook caught in the grass behind me. For the most part, Im glad I got out there to enjoy the very serene and beautiful day. Kyle and his father Alan were also fishing there during the weekend and caught a bunch of crappies and bluegills on flyrods.
