Took the kayak up to Lander on the upper Potomac River for a change of pace. Spent most of the day tossing 1/32 and 1/8 ounce jigs with twister tails on a 4 pound test spinning rod and reel. Quite a variety of fish that can be caught that way. While the smallmouth bass and sunfish probably outnumbered the other fish caught 15 to 1 I also hooked largemouth bass, crappie and yellow perch. The best locations for the smallmouth and the sunfish were the current breaks behind the huge rock formations that populate the river up in that area. None of the fish were huge but it was a fun day on the water and wet wading was a great way to keep cool.
