Lock Raven Bluegill

I took my kayak out to Lock Raven on Tuesday and caught a 10 inch bluegill on a shad dart and several pickeral on the Berkley Alive Nightcrawlers. The pickeral were caught by casting out into 4-7 feet of water and letting the bait sink down to the bottom and slowly reeling it in with a lot of jigging. I've been having a lot of trouble hooking any bass latley. Anyone noticing any trends out there? Couldn't take any pictures because camera fell in the water!! Tight lines.
