Pat Otoole and I got on the water just after 5:30 Friday morning at Big Slackwater. Early fishing was a bit slow, but as we downsized the baits, the bites were frequent. Most fish were small bluegills, but there were a couple of nice smallmouth and one 3 pound plus catfish in the mix. We were off the water by noon as boat traffic and the heat increased. The dog days are definitely here!
