On Sunday at around 6pm we launched 10 people on 8 boats from Waysons Corner at the Patuxent Wetlands Park to go on the first annual Patuxent River Snakehead Hunt. Fishing was slow despite seeing some larger and smaller fish jumping regularly. Unfortunately/fortunately no snakeheads were captured and killed. Andrew Davidson landed the only fish of the day and is pictured here with the 22 inch channel catfish, caught on a piece of rotting tenderloin chain just a hundred yards or so south of the route 4 bridge. The only other bites were small bait stealing crabs. Despite the slow fishing we all enjoyed a fantastic evening on the water and are looking forward to the 2nd annual Patuxent River Snakehead Hunt.
