Me and my friends from work often enjoy sending each other cell phone pictures of the fish we catch. Last night while I was fishing at Swann Park in Crofton I had quite a picture worthy catch! I usually get out a couple nights a week to fish small ponds in the area for an hour or two after work. Swann Park is a small pond next to the golf course in Crofton, where I have mixed luck. On Wednesday, I was casting a small top water popper with poor results. Then I saw the bait take a light smack from what I thought was a bluegill. I barely felt some weight on the line so I brought it in thinking I had snagged some grass. And when I got it in I noticed this 3-1/2" largemouth bass. What an appetite! Funny things like this are reasons that I love to fish. Believe it or not this isn't the smallest bass I ever caught.
