Broiled Mattawoman Snakehead Fillets

On July 27, 2012 I was fishing the out-going evening tide on Mattawoman Creek, using a top water popper at the edge of the weed mats, when this 28� snakehead struck. The fish fought very hard, trying to get to the cover of the weeds & pads, but with a 30 lb braid I was able to prevent it from doing so. I broiled the snakehead fillets and shared them with my neighbors & co-workers.
