Report from the Upper Potomac

Type: Nontidal
Region: Western
Location: Dargan Upper Potomac

Friday, August 17 was a pretty slow day for quality size fish. Pat OToole and I went out of Dargan at 6 am looking for the buzz bait bite and it was just not happening! Indeed, only one fish took a swipe at the buzzer during the course of the day. Once again, Pats 3 inch grey senko on a 1/8 ounce jig head was the bait of the day. Pat caught three smallies over 12 inches but most fish were small. Three catfish were caught on Gulp Smelt 3 inch minnows. Another beautiful morning on the river with minimal results. But hey, Fall is on the way!
