Dogwood Day Bass

Type: Nontidal
Region: Central
Location: Dogwood Road Pond

I had a great day at Dogwood Road Pond on Sunday, September 2nd in Windsor Mill MD. I caught 14 bass all of which were dinks except 3. All fish were caught on a black and blue bitsy jig 3/16 oz with a black and blue swim chunk trailer. One was caught on a baby minus crankbait shad color. I had a blast! The jig bite seemed to be exceptional that day which may have had something to do the rain we had Saturday night. I also have had a lot of success with buzzbaits in the evening hours there and even frogs. If there are bass in the area they seem to hit a buzz bait really well, same goes for jigs. Top water mostly in the evening and jigs or shallow crankbaits during the day or pitching soft plastics to the tall reeds they have surrounding the pond. Seems to be a lot of small bass in this pond but occasionally you'll catch a nice 2-3lber.
