Trout in the Summer Heat!

On Sunday, June 6th, 2010, between 4 and 730pm my brother Kevin Haitmanek(pictured) and i visited on of the put and take spots on the upper Gunpowder in Sparks, MD. We fished with live nightcrawlers on bottom rigs and also with wee-r crawfish crankbaits. Despite the 85 degree heat that day, we caught our legal limit of stocked rainbow trout very easily. In addition, we released several more smaller brown trout, a few good sized fallfish, and one random yellow perch.The cool breeze from the ice cold water was a bonus to the plentiful trout population. Thanks, dnr, for an exceptional season so far.
