North Branch at Lost Run

Type: Nontidal
Region: Eastern
Location: North Branch at Lost Run

I fished the North Branch at Lost Run the last two weekends and the action has been no short of amazing. I spent mornings and evenings in the area and had excellent action using a stimulator with a dropper. Generally a bead head emerger was best on the dropper. Hairs ear droppers worked too.

I would say that in the evening the dropper was the hottest and the hits came as the stimulator-dropper was on the swing of the cast. Generally across a run or the tail of a run. I had decent surface action in the morning and through the early afternoon even with the sunshine. Some fish slurped the stimulator while others shot up for it.

Fish were generally 10-14. Some fought like they were steelhead with multiple runs and jumps. It was a lot of fun.

Word of caution the water level was falling fast and warming. Without some cooling rains the upper river will be putting a lot of stress on these fish.
