The second opening day of Maryland trout season is a success. I headed up to my usual place - Friends Creek to try to get my limit. At first fishing was slow but once I got the hang of it I caught a nice rainbow on a bead head pheasant tail nymph, then 3 more fishing various pools. I tried other nymphs, San Juan worms and streamers but caught nothing on those flies. Finally I decided to try the pool near my car and caught a pretty Golden Trout filling my limit. This year there are a lot of these Golden Trout with most pools holding at least 2-3. They seem to harder to catch but worth the effort. Tight lines all.
