This was the ultimate redemption fish. The one that got away, yesterday :)
I went fishing on Thursday and saw a huge Golden Trout. I tried everything that I had and I couldn't catch it. So I went back again later that day and had to wait in line as other tried to catch this beauty. Finally had my turn and I caught it! But after battling it for a few minutes as it weaved in and out of crevices and making full aerial jumps, the fish made a last ditch effort and went into the next succeeding pool. I lost the fishI was devastated.
I went home and all I could think about was the fish. I went out again the next morning fighting bad rush hour traffic. To my dismay, the water was no longer quiet waters but a roaring, badly stained, murky rushing river. I tried to find the fish and eventually went back to the car to grab more gear. As I came down, the rod looked like it had snagged the bottom due to the current. To my surprised, I hooked the fish! After a short fight, I brought the beautiful Golden Trout in.
Personal best! Thank you DNR for the wonderful program you have in MD.
Tight lines!
