Spring Top-Water Fishing at Loch Raven

Type: Nontidal
Region: Central
Location: Lower end of Loch-Raven (Providence Road areas)

Fishing has been quite productive in the past week at Loch Raven. Working the shore line employing a fan casting technique (to cover water) in back bays which have little to no exposure to wind have seemed to be most productive. All of the fish I caught were on a top-water lure; In my case a rebel Frog-R with a moderate to vigorous walk-the-dog retrieve. I managed to catch plenty of 2-3 lb Chain Pickerel and a decent number of 5 lb+ Largemouth Bass all of which were pulled from moderately dense cover, so expect to loose some rigs if not careful!
