Sighting of Longnose Gar in Potomac River at Alexandria (Fords Landing waterfront just upstream of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge). It looked like spawning activity with a lot of activity on the surface and in the shallow water along the rocky shore. The pictures were taken with an iPhone Monday evening 17 June 2013. Most darker fish (males?) were around two feet in length, and a few (more silver, females?) up to three to four feet.
