One of the things I love about the tidal Potomac is the variety of fish species. I managed to catch 8 different species of fish in a single day: Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, catfish, striper, Bluegill, White Perch, crappie, and Walleye. Attached are a few photos.
The highlight of the day was hitting a school of stripers just as the sun was setting. I managed to catch 9 stripers over 20", the largest being 25", all during the course of an hour and a half. Amidst the striper action, I pulled in a Walleye (approx 22"). No photo because I shook it off the hook, thinking it was another 20+ inch striper before I realized I had a trophy Walleye. It was a great day to be on the water.
