Striped Killifish

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Cockneys Creek

I caught this minnow/ fish in a minnow trap in Cockneys Creek off the Magothy River. I have caught small Largemouth Bass before and regular size off a rock wall in Cockneys. Can you please id this minnow/ fish for me? I was curious Also, I believe a Bluefish came to the surface and butted the end off of my minnow I was using. Do they have blues in the Magothy?

DNR Response: You caught a Striped Killifish, they are actually residents of bay waters but always seem to be a curiosity when caught. An interesting aspect of the Striped Killifish is the male has only vertical stripes while the mature female have some horizontal lines.
