This 25" Snakehead, my first, hit a Rattletrap in some clear weed free water in the creek just upstream of the boat ramp there at the park in the early afternoon on a partly cloudy day (July 24). I couldn't get a hit with the top water frog in the weeds so I switched over and got a real fight on light tackle fishing from a kayak. I'm really glad I brought a net along.
Dispatched with a single blow to the head with a heavy hammer I keep for jug ice, it fed 5 for dinner with leftovers. Excellent taste fresh off the grill, filleted, skinned, then chunked and cooked in a hot skillet.
Bottom line - an A+ fishing/culinary experience.
