Region: Southern
Location: Near Cedar Point Rips
I was fishing near Cedar Point Rips last Friday morning, trolling a spoon with an in-line planer when something hit it and started taking line. I was using light tackle and it took me 10-15 minutes to get it in. Turned out to be a 43 inch Red Drum! Got some photos and released it as quickly as possible. Question to DNR: Any idea how old this fish might be?
DNR Response: A 43" Red Drum would generally be in the range of 15 to 20 years old.
